Guroo accounts are created and managed by a parent or guardian, not by children directly. A parent sets up the account and adds one or more child profiles. Because a responsible adult manages the account, we rely on that parent or guardian to provide consent for their child's use of Guroo.
From the parent/guardian:
About the child (entered by the parent):
Technical information:
We do not collect a child's full name, address, photograph, precise location, or any special-category data. We do not show advertising and we do not sell any data.
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, our database and authentication provider, protected by access controls so that a parent can only ever see their own family's information. Passwords are encrypted. We keep your data only as long as your account is active.
We do not sell or rent your data. We share it only with the service providers that make Guroo work (for example, our database host and our email provider), and only so they can perform those functions on our behalf. We may disclose information if required by law.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
To exercise any of these, or to delete your account, email us at hello@gurucool.uk and we will act on your request.
Guroo is designed to be used by children under the supervision of a parent or guardian, who creates and controls the account. We do not knowingly collect data directly from a child without a parent's involvement. If you believe a child has provided us information without parental consent, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will let account holders know by email or within the app.
